In the context of escalating security challenges, hybrid threats, and increasing pressure on democratic institutions, the project aimed to contribute to fact-based and informed public debate on NATO’s security and defence agenda, with a particular focus on the role of free and independent media in supporting stability and security within NATO member states and partner countries.
As NATO prepared for key strategic discussions, including the Hague Summit and debates on increased defence spending, the project sought to bring a Slovak perspective to broader transatlantic security discussions. Through cooperation with media partners, including EURACTIV Slovakia, the project focused on the production of analytical and journalistic content addressing NATO’s priorities, emerging security threats, transatlantic cooperation, and the importance of media freedom in countering disinformation and supporting democratic resilience.
Over a six-month period (July–December 2025), the project produced a combination of articles, interviews, podcasts, analytical reports, and social media content. These activities aimed to increase stakeholders’ awareness of NATO’s strategic priorities, underline the importance of capacity and resilience building within the transatlantic region, and promote public debate on foreign and security policy issues relevant to Slovakia and the wider Central and Eastern European region.
By combining continuous media coverage, analytical insights, and targeted outreach activities, the project supported informed discussion on security and defence policy, strengthened awareness of NATO-related issues, and highlighted the indispensable role of free and independent media in maintaining security and stability in the transatlantic space.
Implemented from July 2025 to December 2025, the project seeks to promote fact-based discussions on security and democracy, counter misinformation, and strengthen awareness of the indispensable role free and independent media play in maintaining stability and security in the Transatlantic space.
The project is being implemented from July 2025 to December 2025.
