The Conference on the Future of Europe recommends the introduction of European minimum pensions. The Slovak Ministry of Labour is in favour of improving social policy at European level, taking into account the specificities of the Member States. However, such a proposal would not mean that Slovaks would have the same pensions as Germans.

Ukrainian activists and parliamentarians address the plenary session of the Conference on the Future of Europe. They called on the Union to take stronger action against Russia and called for a no-fly zone over Ukraine. European countries have ruled out such a move for the time being.

The Conference, which has been running across the Union since May 2021, could be replaced by a Convention for the revision of the Treaties on the Functioning of the EU when it ends. The proposal is being put forward by MEPs. Together with members of national parliaments, they are now working on a joint declaration.

Europeans at the Conference on the Future of Europe have once again raised the issue of supranational candidates. The four largest factions in the European Parliament decided to comply with the proposal by proposing a compromise. A supranational candidate would complement the national ones, and there is talk of lowering the age limit or quotas for women. However, support for change is low and lacking in Slovakia.

While Slovakia was busy discussing a defence agreement with the US, two hundred random Europeans in Maastricht managed to agree on 40 recommendations on foreign policy and migration. Without insults, without name-calling and with relevant conclusions. The question in a million is whether anyone will care.
