After the start of the Russian aggression, the Slovak Prime Minister said that the EU must find a new way and new rules that would allow Ukraine to become a member of the Union. However, European leaders have not yet even granted it candidate status. At the EU summit, EDUARD HEGER said the accession criteria should not be changed. "They show a country's readiness to be a member state," he told EURACTIV Slovakia.
