Ódor's government does not fantasise about a bridge between East and West, nor about the four cardinal points. Apolitical nature allows it to declare that Slovakia is part of the "political West", and it plans to do so. Continuity is to be expected in both defence and diplomacy.

Western politics has become defensive and hypersensitive, which many interpret as the decline of Western civilization. Nevertheless, according to ZSOLT RÁBAI, proactivity has never been a strength of international organizations. Hence, if Europe yearns for peace, it has no choice but to become proactive. "Trying to understand Russia or China, however, cannot lead to a relativisation of our own values. The forthcoming NATO summit will therefore be a milestone," he writes.

Deepfake technologies have been used for entertainment for years. But they also represent a relatively new and difficult-to-detect digital threat. At European level, they will be regulated by the Artificial Intelligence Act, for which the member states are still preparing. In the meantime, even in Slovakia, the cases can be resolved by reporting and even through the courts.

The EU has awaited the outcome of the May elections in terms of several political, social and economic areas of cooperation with Turkey. Despite the "best chances in the recent years", the opposition lost again. The bloc will therefore have to resolve the challenges with Erdoğan that it has been postponing for years.
